This is a Toronto landmark building that was used as both hospital and home to many during The War Of 1812 until its destruction by American troops in 1849. It also suffered great damage after being set ablaze while housing residents due to fire caused by the Great Toronto Fire, which left little more than ruins on what had been such an important place for so long.
